    What is Far Infrared Heating?

Understanding the natural, efficient heating technology that's transforming homes worldwide

    Think of the sun!

53% of the energy from the sun is harmless infrared, heating not the air but objects and the earth's surface directly.

Now think of your own home where our revolutionary heater panels produce infrared; heating the objects in your home e.g. carpets, ceilings, furniture and storing this energy. Like a radiator this energy is released to heat your home.

Different from traditional conventional heating it does not cause constant air circulation; creating an evenly heated space and a more comfortable environment.

Operated on thermostats the Yandiya® Infrared Heating systems monitors the heat levels; turning the system on and off with a small amount of energy needed to keep the home at your desired comfortable levels, saving on power bills.

A Yandiya® Infrared heating system will create a drier, warmer, healthier home.

    Benefits of Far Infrared Heating

    Heats Objects, Not Air

Unlike conventional heating, infrared heats the fabric of your building, furniture, and people directly.

    Even Heat Distribution

Creates an evenly heated space without hot spots or cold zones that conventional heating creates.

    Energy Efficient

Requires less energy to maintain comfortable temperatures once the building mass is heated.

    Reduces Moisture

Creates a drier environment, helping to prevent damp and mould issues in your property.

    Health Benefits

No air circulation means less dust movement, beneficial for allergy and asthma sufferers.

    Natural Warmth

Mimics the warmth of the sun, providing a comfortable and natural feeling of heat.

    How It Compares

    Conventional Heating

    • Heats only the air which rises and escapes
    • Creates uneven temperatures from floor to ceiling
    • Circulates dust and allergens
    • Higher energy consumption to maintain warmth

    Far Infrared Heating

    • Heats objects and building fabric directly
    • Even temperature distribution throughout the room
    • No air circulation - better for health
    • Up to 60% energy savings possible

    Common Questions

What is an infrared heating panel?

An infrared heating panel is a flat electric heater, usually made from aluminium, glass, or mirrored glass, that generates far infrared radiation instead of heating the surrounding air. A resistive heating element bonded to the rear of the panel warms the front surface, which then emits infrared wavelengths similar to natural sunlight. These waves pass through the air largely unabsorbed and are instead absorbed by walls, floors, furniture, and people, converting directly into radiant warmth. Panels are typically wall- or ceiling-mounted, run on standard mains electricity, and require no pipework, flue, or ductwork, making them straightforward to retrofit into existing rooms or install in new builds.

    How does infrared heating work?

Infrared heating works by emitting electromagnetic radiation in the far-infrared part of the spectrum, the same type of gentle energy felt from the sun on a clear day. This radiation travels through air without significantly warming it, then is absorbed by solid objects and surfaces such as walls, floors, furniture, and skin, where it converts into heat. Those surfaces act as thermal mass, storing warmth and re-releasing it into the room gradually, which keeps temperatures stable with fewer draughts and less energy needed to maintain comfort. Because infrared heats occupants and surfaces directly rather than waiting for air to circulate, rooms feel warm almost immediately and stay comfortable even with brief opening of doors or windows.

Infrared vs convection heating: what is the difference?

Infrared heating warms people, walls, floors, and furniture directly using radiant energy, while convection heating warms the air, which then circulates around a room to transfer warmth. Convection systems create rising warm air that collects near the ceiling, leading to uneven temperatures, draughts, and constant air movement that stirs up dust and allergens. Infrared avoids these issues by delivering heat straight to surfaces and occupants, producing an even, natural warmth similar to sunlight, with no air circulation. Because thermal mass in walls and furniture retains infrared heat and releases it slowly, rooms stay warmer for longer after the panel switches off, typically resulting in lower running costs than convection heaters, radiators, or forced-air systems for the same level of comfort.
